RFG Foods: A Leader in the Industry

With over a century of experience, RFG Foods serves both domestic and international markets, offering fresh, frozen, and long-life meal solutions. Their portfolio includes beloved brands like Rhodes Quality, Bull Brand, Squish, and more. RFG operates 14 production facilities and two farms, all certified to international standards and equipped with modern technology.

The Challenge and Solution

In 2013, RFG needed a flexible IMS to automate inventory processes and improve real-time visibility. They partnered with Bidvest Mobility, selecting Honeywell for their rugged, high-quality mobile devices. This partnership began at the Bull Brand plant in Krugersdorp and has expanded nationwide.

Key Benefits

  • Automation and Accuracy: The IMS automates inventory tasks, reducing manual entry and errors. Honeywell devices ensure seamless tracking from raw materials to finished goods.

  • Real-Time Data: Senior Stock Controller Dashlin Apollis notes the time savings and reduced errors from real-time data synchronization.

  • Integration: The IMS integrates smoothly with Syspro, enhancing operational efficiency and maintaining high food safety standards.

  • Advanced Reporting: The system provides end-to-end visibility, supporting data-driven decisions and optimising stock levels.

Future Growth

RFG is committed to expanding automation, with plans to deploy Bidvest Mobility’s IMS and Honeywell technology across more sites, enhancing operational efficiency and driving growth.
